New arrival

We are very excited to announce the arrival of an amazing new diagnostic instrument – the Zeiss Cirrus OCT.
At Kite Opticians we are dedicated to preserving the health of your eyes and ensuring you maintain excellent vision. In order to do this we keep ourselves at the forefront of eyecare with the latest technology and specialist expertise.
We have recently invested in this OCT technology to provide a more advanced eye examination than ever before. An OCT scan of your eye allows us to visualise the layers of the retina at the back of the eye in a similar way to a MRI or CAT scan. It provides a 3D image, enabling the Optometrist to pick up any problems at a much earlier stage. Many common diseases such as glaucoma, Macula Degeneration (AMD) and diabetes can damage the retina.
This revolutionary new technology is available in hospital eye departments and only a few Optometry practices in the country. The 3D scan is not part of the NHS eye test but is performed as part of an extended examination. It is non-invasive, painless and quick! The images are stored on computer for comparison at future visits, providing the best way of monitoring the health of your eyes.
Your eyes are arguably your most important sense, so taking care of them and helping them to work efficiently requires the support and guidance of experts.
Please contact our award-winning practice for more information.

she is one of three winners in a national colouring competition. Cara
entered the competition when she was waiting for an appointment at her
local opticians, Kite in Ipswich.

am really excited to have won and meeting Nicky has been brilliant!”
Owner

won the competition. He said, “Introducing a competition for children
makes the experience of visiting the opticians fun. It is vital that
everyone, especially young patients, have their eyes examined on a regular
basis and we aim to make their visit to us enjoyable. We were pleased
that we gained national recognition for this earlier this year when
we won ‘Family Optician of the Year.'”
Kite Opticians

them free eye examinations and reductions on specialist sports vision
lenses. They were also business backer for the first ever Ipswich International
